GUILD ORGANISATION & COMMITTEES

> EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE
The Executive Committee is responsible for determining the broad policies of the Guild, overseeing the finances, and for the day-to-day management of the Guild. It is required to report regularly to the Members' Council and consider any proposals made by that Council. The Executive Committee is composed of the four officers listed below, six members elected by the Members' Council (two each year for a term of three years) and the Convenor of the Premises Standing Sub-Committee. The Principal also attends in a non-voting capacity to advise and report.
The Guild Officers currently serving are:

Chairman: Howard Gregory
Vice Chairman: Robin Salmon
Hon. Secretary: Mike Redfern
Hon. Treasurer: Stanley Marsden

Officers are elected at the Annual General Meeting on 31 October 2007. Nominations are required two weeks before this meeting.

> MEMBERS' COUNCIL
The role of the Members' Council is to consider the reports of the Executive Committee and Standing Committees and indicate whether they concur and to encourage the representatives of all activities to bring forward proposals for the preservation of the high standards of the Guild. All proposals and resolutions of the Members' Council must be considered and responded to by the Executive Committee. Its membership consists of elected representatives of every activity, class tutors, the Society of Friends, Cheshire County Council and Macclesfield Borough Council

> SYLLABUS STANDING SUB-COMMITTEE
This Sub-Committee plans a balanced programme of activities for the year. It consists of the Principal as Convenor and not less than six members elected by the Members' Council.

> PREMISES STANDING SUB-COMMITTEE
This Committee monitors the condition of the Guild premises, furniture and equipment to maintain a high standard of repair and improvement. It consists of a Convenor and not less than three other members elected at the Members' Council.

> FINANCING THE GUILD
The Guild is financially self-supporting, relying for its income on membership subscriptions, fees, donations and fund raising activities. A grant is received from Cheshire County Council and Macclesfield Borough Council gives relief of part of the rates. Some local firms and Guild members generously contribute to the printing costs of the syllabus.
