I am a retired school teacher who enjoys opening history up to both children and adults. The immense fscination of all eras from ancient to 20th century when you look at a topic in depth is attractive to all I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to live in Taiwan, Hongkong, the USA and the Netherlands for 15 years in the 1980s and 1990s which gave me a wider view of history in general and a clearer view of my own country. I have been teaching a course on Historical Mysteries at the Guild for ten years now and the well of topics shows no sign of drying up! I also do a series of lectures at Bramhall and these have ranged through Chinese history and current situation to the 17th century and the most significant inventions of the world. My interest in crime fiction has been of value in the day schools and other lectures that I have done. Some of my Mystery topics have looked at real life and fictional crimes.
