A writing techniques workshop that frees you from the terror of the first draft. If you dream of becoming a writer, but can't seem to get past first base, this course will help you abolish the fears and desire for perfection that may be holding you back. Learn how to access your creativity and bring your stories to life. We will primarily focus on fiction but many of the techniques can also be used for non fiction, life writing and memoirs. Energise your enthusiasm for the written word and you'll be pleasantly surprised at the standard of writing you can produce.

You will learn how to:

  • Develop your writer's voice
  • Grab your readers' attention from the start with intriguing story beginnings
  • Discover your natural abilities as a storyteller
  • Trust your creative subconcious
  • Bring your characters to life with convincing dialogue
  • Write using the senses to add realism to your stories
  • Develop a writing plan – and stick to it
  • Use coaching techniques to ramp up your motivation
  • Stop procrastinating and banish the struggle

Who should come on the course?

Anyone who is good at starting a writing project, but finds it difficult to sustain momentum. Suitable for new and experienced writers and anyone determined to break through the procrastination barrier.
