Is The Enlightenment Dead? Thursdays 13.30 2017/18

The Enlightenment was an 18th Century movement that rejected dogma and advocated reason as the key to progress.  Kant saw it as "man's emergence from self-imposed infancy".  It was called the age of reason.  How reasonable is life today?  Are we still beset by dogma?  Do we care about truth?  Are enlightenment values dead?  We shall study the views of John Locke, David Hume and John Gray.
