After Rome Fell Fridays 10.00 2016/17

After being sacked by Visigoths in 410 and Vandals in 451 the last Roman Emperor was deposed in 476. In place of the unified empire a series of so called "barbarian kingdoms" emerged in western Europe. This course examines the period from roughly 450-750 and includes such groups as the Huns, Vandals, Ostrogoths, Franks, Anglo-Saxons and Lombards. What survived from the imperial period and what was swept away?
