Church and Society in 16th century Europe Wednesdays 10.00 2017/18

This year is the 500th anniversary of Martin Luther's "protest" against the perceived absues of the medieval church. His actions would reverberate through the century as new churches Lutheran, Reformed, Baptist, Mennonite came into being and the Catholic Church responded with the Counter Reformation. This course explores the impact on Europe of a tumultuous century.
