Family History Part Three: Further Steps Tuesdays 13.00

This course is suitable for anyone who has completed either the course from  term two ("The Next Step") or both of the previous family history courses. It is also possible for anyone with sufficient practical experience of genealogical research to join this as a stand-alone course - the tutor, Gill Rossini, is happy to advise.  On this course we will build on our skills and knowledge by examining the following topics:

- records relating to wills and probate

- dating and interpeting old photographs

- sources of information for properties and land

- taxation records

- Manorial records

- records for emigration and immigration

- resources for researching children, in particular, school records and vaccination records

- as in term one, an optional field trip will be offered, this time to a major museum or library, with exclusive guided tour.

In addition, now that we have amassed a substantial amount of information and data about our family history, we will review how it is all stored and organized, and examine the many different ways of presenting a family history, from written histories to multi media presentations. We will also continue to brainstorm ideas and attack those research "dead ends" that afflict researchers from time to time. Take advantage of your highly experienced and expert tutor and forge ahead with your family history!
