Following on from our pre Christmas workshops for a heritage teddy, this duo of Saturday workshops looks to Easter with a collectible bunny. All of the techniques used to make teddy bears are transferrable to other critters, and the cute bunny we will make is no exception. Your heritage style bunny will be made using a kit that includes mohair plush, glass eyes and a choice of accessories. It will be a similar size to the teddy from previous workshops, and the ideal friend for her or him!
- 23rd March: we will look at the history of the Easter Bunny as a seasonal "personality" and then cut out our furry pieces ready for sewing. If you did not attend the teddy workshops the previous term, don't worry - you will receive every assistance to begin your project. If you have not finished the sewing at the end of this session, this can be completed in the week before the second workshop on:
30th March: now the pieces for our bunnies are sewn, we can commence the assembly. Your choice of features will create a unique personality for your new friend, and you will be able to add fun accessories.
Points to note:
- the artisan bunny you make will be a collectible item, and is not suitable for persons under 14 years.
- each attender will need a kit to make their bunny; the kits are provided by the tutor and cost £12 each.
- previous knowledge: basic sewing skills; a love of bunnies!
The bunnies you create are a unique design by your tutor, Gill Rossini, who makes artist bears and critters under the name of Trojan Teddies.
