RIVERS AND CANALS OF GREAT BRITAIN

Canals were the only means of bulk transport for the eighty years from 1760. They continued to make a contribution long after that: now they have a new life as a leisure facility. This illustrated  course will look at the history and geography of the eight canals which crosssed from western to eastern Britain.
