Singing for fun - The Mens' Choir Tuesdays 10.00

Autumn Term - Class commencing Tuesday 27th September 2016
The Singing for Fun Choirs at the Wilmslow Guild are for anyone who wants to sing for fun. Some of our singers are very knowledgeable about music and have a great deal of experience, and some of our singers have never been in a choir before joining us – and most people are somewhere in-between. There is no audition required, and you needn't be able to read music. However, we do take on some challenging material, so if you're completely new you might consider the introductory day course listed below. Our repertoire includes classical choral music, folk songs, spirituals, show tunes, pop, rock – everything from Elgar to Elton. We have two formal concerts each year as well as occasional opportunities to perform in the community.
In the autumn and spring terms, the choir will focus on learning new music in preparation for the corresponding concerts in December and March. In the summer term, the choir will focus on both old and new repertoire that is sung by Hullabaloo, a group that has grown out of the men's choir which performs for private and public events on a regular basis. Men signing up for the summer term do not need to make any kind of commitment to being Hullabaloo; you can just come and have a good sing! But if you are interested in joining Hullabaloo, this term offers the best time to learn the repertoire.
Day class
"What To Do in the Event of Music"  is an introductory singing session that takes place before term starts on Saturday 10th September.  Find it in this music section. Book early, as class size is strictly limited to 20 people
