* Wet Felt a Lattice Scarf': Saturday 7 March 2020

This one-day workshop is suitable for beginner felt-makers and those more experienced felters who wish to extend their skills further. The tutor will firstly demonstrate how to lay down an open grid of wool roving, with consideration given to grid scale, spacing and quality of line. In addition, students will be shown how to join long lengths of roving by the dry fibre to dry fibre method.
The session will then move on to wetting out the fibres and felting to the pre-felt stage. At this point, yarns may be interspersed to add variation to a plain grid, fibre flowers placed on the grid or shapes added to the fringed edges. To finish, the package will be fully felted by rolling and gentle throwing.
Note: Fibres, yarns, wool batt and pre-felt are available to buy from the tutor on the day. Alternatively, bring your own stash!
Places limited to 12 students only.
